Keeping your data secure is our top priority. BioRankings uses
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
to access your data in a protected, efficient environment.
We require .cdf, .mzxml, .mzml, and .mzdata.xml data files and .csv for
metadata files.
More information about the metadata file can be found in our
Metadata File Guide
If you do not have your own data or wish to use a sample dataset:
Steps to Upload Data:
In the navigation bar under Metabolomics click on the ‘Upload Data’ button to go to the
upload page
The first step on the page is to enter a name for your Metadata file and upload it by
using the 'Browse' button.
In the screen shot below, we have uploaded the metadata file in the sample dataset at the
top of this page and entered the name ‘covars’.
Note: Multiple metadata files can be uploaded if you want to run different
analyses on subsets of the same data.
The second step is to upload your untargeted metabolomic files. Click the ‘Browse’ button
to select which files to upload. The files will be display in the white box below. Then
click the ‘Upload files’ button to begin the upload. Once the upload is complete you will
get a prompt indicating success.
In the 1st screenshot below we have uploaded the 16 sample .mzml files linked at the top
of this page.
The 2nd screenshot shows the prompt after a successful upload.
The final step of naming your dataset is optional but is recommended if you plan to run
multiple analyses. We have named ours ‘Demo_Dataset’ in the 1st screenshot. Lastly, click
on the ‘Submit Data Upload’ button. This will take you to our ‘Start Your Untargeted
Metabolomics Analysis’ page.
